Who I am...and what I think

Hi! I'm Abdalla El Awad, a Computer Engineering student at Roma Tre University. The field of computer science is very vast and currently my interests range from web development to computer networks.

As a "Multipotentialite Man", I explore different fields: from creative writing to business, from poetry to Web Design. I believe that diversity of skills and interests is a quality that allows us to face challenges with more appropriate perspectives. Not everyone can agree, naturally there are those who prefer to focus on a specific skill and deepen it, but I (at least for now) can't dwell on just one thing and I like to try my hand at multiple areas.

Being multipotential doesn't mean I'm automatically good at everything — actually, quite the opposite! The truth is, I'm not an expert in many things. Multipotential is simply a broad term to describe someone with many different interests across various, often unrelated fields. Of course, one can be both highly skilled and multipotential. In my case, it just means I'm curious and passionate about exploring diverse paths.

Work is not just an end in itself, but we also work for a common purpose, from the street cleaner who cleans the streets so we don't have to walk among garbage to the doctor who treats us when we're sick, every job needs the presence of another job to exist so that we can live with a certain balance. Balance that unfortunately day by day becomes increasingly difficult to achieve. I don't hide the fact that I believe in a future where we work much less in order to do the things we like most and I'm aware that maybe it won't be easy with companies that will continue not to hire more staff and exploit those already present by loading them with additional work, some will manage to say no to these squalid conditions and others unfortunately won't succeed immediately. Furthermore, in my opinion every person can pursue a goal or rather a much bigger mission and not think only and exclusively about work, we can all make a good difference even in our small way and maybe leave this world with the awareness of having helped and contributed to solving or improving a problem for a good slice of the community.

Reading these words you might ask yourselves: "Okay, but what have you done, Abdalla?" The answer is that I currently haven't done anything concrete yet, but I'm committed to making sure that what I've written isn't just words written on this miserable website and I hope to be able to achieve something significant as soon as possible.
